Poinsettia Bowl Game to Stage Online Auction
The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl is hosting an on-line auction, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego. The www.PoinsettiaBowl.net auction opened to the general public at 12:01 a.m., Wednesday November 21st and continues until 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 5th.
Among the nearly 60 items include:
-Two tickets to a taping of American Idol (courtesy of AT&T), limousine transportation (courtesy of La Costa Limousine) and dinner (courtesy of Manpower Staffing) included;-A foursome at Pebble Beachs Del Monte Course, air travel on ExpressJet Airlines, airport shuttle service in San Diego (courtesy of Cloud 9 Super Shuttle) and lodging at the Marriott at Monterey included;
-Two Saturday and Sunday tickets for the 2008 U.S. Open golf tournament at Torrey Pines (courtesy of Wells Fargo);
-A trip to the 2008 Army-Navy game in Philadelphia (courtesy of the United States Naval Academy);
-Memorabilia from most Pac-10 and Mountain West Conference schools, and the United States Naval Academy and Northern Illinois University;
-Autographed NFL merchandise; and
-Packages for the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
Items will be added periodically through the 15-day event.
The San Diego chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has served as the beneficiary of the game since its inception in 2005. More than 600 wish kids and families attended the game last year and participated in several game activities. The games title sponsor, San Diego County Credit Union, presented the charity with a check in the amount of $46,000.
The 2007 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl kicks off at 6 p.m. PST on Thursday, December 20 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The game will pit a team from the Mountain West Conference against the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen. For information, visit PoinsettiaBowl.net.
