Marching Bands to Parade Through Gaslamp Quarter
Festivities for the 2008 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl kick off in downtown San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter at 6 p.m., Sunday, December 21st. Marching bands and spirit squads from the participating universities will parade from each end of 5th Avenue performing holiday classics, and meeting up at Market Street for a heart-pounding marching band exhibition. After the dust has settled at Market Street, bands will continue on with their parade of holiday favorites.
“What better way to celebrate the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl than to have a party in downtown San Diego’s popular Gaslamp Quarter,” said 2008 Bowl President Larry Baber. “The sights and sounds will make a terrific opportunity for fans and families to enjoy a memorable San Diego evening.”
This San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl event is being produced in cooperation with the Gaslamp Quarter Association. “
The Gaslamp Quarter is buzzing with anticipation of hosting two of finest marching bands in the country, showcasing their considerable skills for the residents and visitors of our fine City,” shared Jimmy Parker the Executive Director of the Gaslamp Quarter Association. “We recommend visiting www.gaslamp.org for parking information and reservations for that perfect viewing location on 5th Avenue.”
