Kaiser Permanente Hosting Free Football Clinic July 28th
The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and Kaiser Permanente have teamed up with NCAA Football to host a free football clinic for youth ages 5-14 on Saturday, July 28th from 8 a.m. to noon on the rugby fields at Qualcomm Stadium. NCAA football coaches and student-athletes will run the drills. The event is part of NCAA Football’s youth initiative to promote college football.
“We’re delighted to be bringing this free clinic back to San Diego for the third straight year,” said John Wertz, president of the 2012 bowl game. “The event has proven to be memorable and fun for all, evidenced by the expected large turn out again this year. We’re looking forward to a great day!”
In addition to instruction and drills, the Kaiser Permanente-sponsored clinic features a motivational speech by San Diego State Aztecs alum and Super Bowl champion, Freddy Keiaho, the San Diego Chargers Punt, Pass and Kick Contest and a free lunch, courtesy of Chick-fil-A, POWERADE and PopChips.
The event is made possible by several bowl corporate partners: Kaiser Permanente, San Diego County Credit Union, Cox Communications, XX 1090 Sports Radio, the San Diego Chargers, POWERADE, PopChips, Chick-fil-A, San Diego Family Magazine and the Brewer Family Fund.
